Maison de la photographie - Robert Doisneau
Doisneau's dream has come true: the Maison de la Photographie offers brand new exhibitions by artists from all around the world.
A native of Gentilly, Robert Doisneau quite naturally agreed to give his name to the Maison de la Photographie, a building located on the outskirts of Paris, which holds numerous first-time exhibitions by photographers from all around the world, including David Seymour and Georges Rodger, two of the founders of the Magnum agency, as well as, more recently, Serge Clément, Jane Evelyn Atwood and Clemens Kalischer, among others.
Although it follows in the footsteps of Doisneau by placing the emphasis on humanist-inspired photography, the Maison de la Photographie reviews every theme and style irrespective of borders and periods. Even novice photographers are offered a place, with children from local schools being invited to exhibit their latest work there each year.
