Le Hall - Parc de la Villette, Paris

Le Hall

Behind the Grande Halle de la Villette, the Hall finally opens its doors to the public to celebrate the illustrious heritage of French pop music.

From Edith Piaf to Georges Brassens, from Serge Gainsbourg to Barbara, French pop music is a national pride and continues to greatly influence artists today. It is a cultural treasure that must be carefully nurtured and shared with the younger generations. This is precisely the mission of the Hall, an association supported by the Ministry of Culture and SACEM, which works for the development of French pop music (with a capital P) and its performers.

The Hall will offer conferences, educational activities and performances all over France, and an incredibly rich website with different themes, interviews, podcasts, stories and portraits of artists and places. It opens its doors to the public after taking over the old Café des bouchers de la Villette, right behind the Grande Halle.

For its opening, the Hall will offer rare and exciting performances as a tribute to Edith Piaf. To open, the director Serge Hureau will present his creation Inédite Piaf. The actress Clotilde Courau gives the first performance of her show L’Être intime, and the young public will be able to discover Chansons d’Enfance.
