Montreuil is on the move. The proof is at 116, a temple for contemporary art. 116, like the number of the location of this manor house from the end of the XIXth century, squatted by visual artists and musicians before being renovated by the architect Bernard Desmoulin. The space links the street with art. With three exhibitions per year, 116, managed by Marlène Rigler, offers an avant-garde and innovative events schedule featuring artists with a checkered past.

In the garden, visitors can stroll around the Volière and admire works installed behind grills. 116 is devoted to both auditory and visual artistic expression. Visitors are even invited to take part in the creative process. In the mezzanine, everyone can record their voice in the “radiomaton” and the tape will be used for the next sound exhibit.
