Vintage shopping

Paris is also ideal for shopping for vintage objects or antiques and browsing in flea markets with the many shops located in Saint-Ouen, Vanves, Pigalle or the Marais. Blouses from the Seventies, leather jackets, pieces of furniture from yesteryear... The lovers of vintage fashion and design will be on cloud nine.

Start at the Saint-Ouen flea market to embark on an exploration that will take you to a bazaar, an old attic or a prestigious antique shop. The perfect opportunity to hunt for bargains in an informal and friendly atmosphere! Do not miss the Espace Vintage and shops such as L’Éclaireur, which offers a wide selection of clothing, accessories or design objects in limited series or even unique items, as well as designer objects from the 1980s to the 2000s. You can also browse in the Mademoiselle Steinitz shop that sells rare furniture, antique objects and vintage haute couture clothing, or Galerie Gam, specializing in 20th century furniture and decoration.

Towards the Abbesses district, you will find a host of vintage shops, notably Chine Machine, Rose Bunker, La Caverne à Fripes or The Vintedge. Arriving at Pigalle, do not miss Mamie Blue, on Rue Rochechouart, to shop for furniture, ornaments, accessories or shoes... The ideal place if you’re looking for gifts with a touch of retro!

Continuing your journey in the Marais, you can shop for major women’s fashion brands at La Belle Époque, or vintage cultural products at the BHV Marais. You can also stock up on vintage dresses, bags, furs and other retro items at Free’p’Star, the Mecca of trendy second-hand clothing! Finally, if your budget allows, stop off in Kiliwatch to buy top-of-the-range vintage items.

You can then go and relax at the Village Saint-Paul, a market where contemporary art is imbued with authenticity and that houses a hundred shops of furniture, clothing and art objects. Lovers of design and 20th century contemporary art can head for the Rue de Seine and the Down Town, Pascal Cuisinier and Yves Gastou galleries. At the Tuileries, Didier Ludot, the most famous vintage clothing shop in Paris will also surely put you under its spell. Not far away, you can browse the Louvre des Antiquaires, the first covered antique market in France, and then stroll along to the booksellers’ stands on the banks of the Seine.

Towards République, do not miss the Thanx God I’m a V.I.P. shop, full of incredible and unusual items, which also offers leather goods and alteration services. Near Ménilmontant, stop off in Casablanca, a shop selling vintage fashion from the 1930s to 1970s.
