Carven

On the eve of its 70 anniversary, Carven is once again a major ready-to-wear brand, reliving its youth.

Carven will celebrate its 70th anniversary in 2015. Founded just after the Second World War by Carmen de Tommaso, this brand has a boutique in the golden triangle at 6, Rond-point des Champs-Elysées. It met with success starting with its second collection, with a small green and white striped summer dress (Ma Griffe).

Fading into obscurity after multiple buyouts, Carven made a comeback in 2009 with the appointment of Guillaume Henry as artistic director. In five years, the talented French stylist completely relaunched the brand. With dresses that are accessible, youthful, fresh and carefree, he won over fashionistas like Alexa Chung and Inès de la Fressange.

In March 2011, a Carven women's boutique opened in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighbourhood in Paris, followed by another on the left bank in 2013. The same year a men's ready to wear boutique opened on the Rue de Sévigné.

On 25th September 2014, Guillaume Henry presented his latest Carven collection (spring-summer 2015) at the Grand Palais during Fashion Week. On the eve of his 70 anniversary, Carven is writing a new chapter in its history.
