La Roseraie du Val-de-Marne

Located in the heart of a magnificent wooded park of 14 hectares, the rose garden at L’Haÿ-les-Roses is a conservatory of old roses that is unique in the world.

At the end of the 19th century, Jules Gravereaux, assisted by landscape architect Edouard André, created the first western garden dedicated to roses. Determined to share his passion, he opened his rose garden to the public in 1910. Having become famous around the world,  the place now boasts 13 collector’s gardens with more than 3,000 varieties of roses of all shapes, colours and intoxicating scents. June is the perfect time to admire the rose garden when it is at its best.

Guided visits, activities and meetings with rose growers are offered so visitors can become more familiar with the place. Each year, during the first 2 weekends in June, the Roseraie du Val de Marne offers traditional world music with the Parfums de musique festival.

This English-style park and its playground are also ideal for simply walking with the family and taking a breath of fresh air!
